Portrait M&M China

Whether in forwarding or in logistics, M&M provides a comprehensive portfolio of services and products. As M&M belongs to the TransInvest Group, a worldwide, universal service provider, its service and product portfolio has an even broader basis.

Conducting business in and with China is an integral aspect of M&M Militzer & Münch’s long-term strategy. M&M Militzer & Münch’s roots in China span four decades: the company opened its first representative office in Beijing in 1981.

In 1994, M&M Militzer & Münch illustrated its long-term commitment to China when it joined forces with Tianbao Storage Development Corp., operators of the then largest bonded warehouse in northern China, to form the joint venture M&M Militzer & Münch Tianbao Int’l Forwarding Co. Ltd.

Shortly thereafter, M&M Militzer & Münch Tianbao became one of the first European companies to receive a Class A Forwarding License from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC).

In 2006, M&M Militzer & Münch reemphasized its dedication to China and the Chinese market when it formed M&M International Freight Forwarding (Beijing) Co. Ltd., a Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise (WOFE) which operates alongside M&M Militzer & Münch Tianbao as M&M in China.

Pioneering spirit

History

Militzer & Münch´s  founders were pioneers 140 years ago when they set up their rail freight forwarding company. Pioneering spirit also moved the Militzer & Münch experts to venture into airfreight as early as the mid-1950s, and then to add groupage transports via road and rail from Germany to such remote destinations as Iran and Afghanistan.

Militzer & Münch proved its foresight, its pioneering spirit, and its courage again when it was among the first companies to successfully establish itself in the new, promising markets of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and China, thus paving the way for its clients.

Militzer & Münch’s Chinese operations began with the opening of its first representative office in Beijing in 1981. As a sign of its long-term commitment to China, in 1994 Militzer & Münch entered into a Joint Venture relationship with Tianbao Storage Development Crop. Shortly thereafter, Militzer & Münch became one of the first foreign companies to receive a Class A Forwarding License from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC).

That same spirit still drives Militzer & Münch today – it drives us to develop new logistics and cargo handling concepts and processes and to continually expand and optimize our product and service portfolio as a trusted, competent, and high-performance partner for our clients.
